Job summary

RTX is seeking a Ground Processing Hardware Engineer to support design, integration, verification, and lifecycle management of ground processing hardware for mission operations. Location: Aurora, Colorado.

Responsibilities span from systems engineering to cross-functional coordination, with a strong emphasis on delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions. The role requires a Bachelor’s in STEM with 5+ years in engineering, and an active TS/SCI CI Poly clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) with 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in systems engineering, hardware engineering, integration and test, or related disciplines.
  • Experience developing and managing system requirements, specifications, and interface definitions.
  • Experience supporting hardware integration, verification, validation, and test activities.
  • Experience developing technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Raytheon is seeking a highly capable Ground Processing Hardware Engineer to support the design, integration, verification, and lifecycle management of ground processing hardware systems supporting mission operations. This role combines systems engineering, hardware development, integration and test, and cross-functional coordination to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and mission-ready ground processing solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, systems thinking, and engineering discipline to drive successful program execution from concept through operations. Location: Aurora, Colorado

What You Will Do
  • Lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, from concept development through integration, testing, operations, and disposal
  • Develop and manage system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and hardware specifications
  • Translate customer and system requirements into detailed subsystem requirements and define verification/validation methods
  • Support hardware design, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and qualification to meet technical, cost, and schedule goals
  • Investigate hardware anomalies, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability
  • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and design evaluations to optimize performance, reliability, and cost
  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in systems engineering, hardware engineering, integration and test, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience developing and managing system requirements, specifications, and interface definitions.
  • Experience supporting hardware integration, verification, validation, and test activities.
  • Experience developing technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with ground systems, launch processing systems, space systems, satellite operations, or aerospace mission support infrastructure
  • Knowledge of networked hardware systems, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Experience with requirements management and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools
  • Experience supporting government, aerospace, defense, or commercial space programs

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
