Job summary

Distinctive Tree Care is seeking a Groundman to support climbing arborists and bucket operators with rope management, debris handling, and site safety in Connecticut. You will work on the ground, assist with pruning, removal, and prep of job sites, and help ensure equipment and materials are organized for crews.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in tree service, a valid driver’s license, and the flexibility for long days, including weather-driven extended hours.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in tree service preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• CDL preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist climbing arborists and bucket operators by managing ropes and securing limbs during pruning/removal.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE per OSHA guidelines.
• Handle and dispose of tree debris according to company procedures.
• Organize tools and materials needed for service operations.
• Ensure work areas are safe and clear of obstacles for crew safety.
• Assist with site setup including cones and warning signs.
