Job summary

Distinctive Tree Care LLC in Massachusetts seeks a Groundman to support crews by assisting with removal, pruning, and maintenance tasks. The candidate will work on the ground to help manage equipment, secure ropes, and help with debris cleanup, ensuring a safe worksite.

Responsibilities include assisting climbing arborists, following PPE and OSHA rules, and maintaining tools and site safety. Ability to work 10‑hour days and 40 hours weekly, with potential overtime, is required.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1–2 years in tree service.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL preferred.
• Availability to leave town for extended periods or on short notice (weather‑driven).
• Ability to work 10‑hour days and a minimum of 40 hours per week (storm related up to 16 hours per day).

Responsibilities

• Assist climbing arborists and bucket operators with ropes, lowering branches, and securing limbs during pruning/removal.
• Follow all safety protocols, PPE and OSHA regulations.
• Handle and dispose of debris (branches, logs) per procedures.
• Manage and organize tools and materials for service operations.
• Ensure work areas are safe and clear of obstacles for crew safety.
• Assist with site prep (cones, signs, safety measures).

Skills

Driver's license
