Job summary

CRH is seeking a Plant Maintenance technician to handle daily maintenance and repair of the plant, ensuring safe operations and timely completion of work orders across the facilities in the region.

You will use power tools, troubleshoot issues, perform welding and fabrication, and follow OSHA/MSHA procedures while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and documenting all activities.

Qualifications

  • Two years of related heavy equipment/plant mechanical experience preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities.
  • Operate power tools and perform troubleshooting to determine repairs.
  • Follow safety requirements and OSHA/MSHA procedures.
  • Complete required paperwork and communicate concerns to management.
  • Travel to multiple sites within the geographic region as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Position Overview

The Plant Maintenance position will be responsible for daily maintenance and repair of the plant as well as other miscellaneous work that needs to be performed. Perform special maintenance projects, maintenance and repair of all facility equipment. Fosters teamwork, positive work environment and overall safety of yourself and others.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)
  • You must be able to conduct plant maintenance, repair, and installation operations.
  • Requires handling and using power tools and hand tools for heavy repair work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replacing defective parts.
  • Must be able to lift, lower, push, pull and carry machine parts/pieces during repair activities.
  • During maintenance and work performed around industrial equipment, reaching, lifting, pushing/pulling, etc. as well as awkward positions are possible.
  • Must maintain at all times a strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and communicating all concerns with mgmt.
  • Must maintain a clean working facility as well as equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance in a flexible work schedule.
  • Properly follow & promote all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Must be available to travel and work at multiple sites within your geographic region.
  • May perform other duties including but not limited to operating equipment.
  • Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, customers and others.
  • May be required to operate vehicles or heavy equipment as needed for work site.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily according to CYD guidelines and standards.

Education/Experience
  • Two years of related heavy equipment/plant mechanical experience preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined is preferred.
Work Requirements
  • Must pass drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule including: nights, weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in The United States.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use power tools.
  • Must know how to conduct the following: welding, acetylene cutting, fabrication and plumbing.
