Job summary

TAK Broadband in Mount Vernon, WA is hiring a Ground Hand to assist aerial linemen and underground construction crews. You will prepare materials, tools, and equipment, and help maintain safety on the job site.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of aerial fiber optic installation or telecommunication construction experience, are able to lift 70 lbs, and hold a valid driver’s license with CDL recommended. We offer full benefits, paid weekly and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of aerial fiber optic installation and/or telecommunication construction preferred.
• 1+ year of experience using a pneumatic piercing tool or missile boring for underground construction preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical or fiber optic work is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist aerial lineman by preparing materials, tools, and equipment for overhead line work.
• Act as a spotter for aerial linemen and equipment operators to ensure safety.
• Operate and maintain ground-level equipment, such as bucket trucks, winches, and hoists.
• Handle, transport, and organize tools, cables, poles, and hardware.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site, complying with safety regulations and procedures.
• Provide support by pulling and feeding cables, attaching hardware, and securing work areas.
• Assist with traffic control and safety flagging as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth operations.
