Amazon LEO is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to lead the design workstream for gateway systems. You will collaborate with the team and suppliers to define, optimize, and test electronics capable of gigabit data rates, from concept to production.

The role emphasizes ownership of the gateway modem design and close integration with operations and supply chain. The team values cross-functional collaboration across silicon, power, mechanical, thermal, and RF/comm systems to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hardware engineering experience.
• 3+ years of using schematic tools (Mentor Xpedition / Cadence OrCAD / Altium).
• 2+ years of using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).

Responsibilities

• Own the ground gateway gigabit data rate modem design from concept through production.
• Design and optimize subsystems of electronics.
• Lead and review schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Optimize PCB stack-up for performance and cost.
• Complete board bring-up and test campaigns for modules and subsystems.
• Support transition of designs to production with the contract manufacturer.
