Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Satellite Hardware Development Engineer to lead the design workstream for gateway systems and manage the complete development lifecycle from concept to production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver affordable, high-bandwidth connectivity while architecting reliable hardware for space-grade applications.

The role emphasizes ownership of designs, integration with RF/modem and mechanical teams, and close partnership with manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years hardware engineering experience.
• 3+ years of using schematic tools (Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Cadence OrCad, or Altium Designer).
• 2+ years of experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters).

Responsibilities

• Own the ground gateway gigabit data rate modem design from concept through production.
• Design and optimize blocks of electronics sub-systems.
• Design digital circuitry supporting various protocols with cross-team collaboration.
• Lead and review schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Optimize PCB stack-up for performance and cost.
• Complete board bring-up and test campaigns for modules and subsystems.
• Support the transition of designs to production with the contract manufacturer.
