Job summary

D.C. Goodman & Sons is seeking a Service Manager to own the service side end-to-end, building the department from the ground up and developing a PM program for HVAC and plumbing systems. You will lead operations, client relationships, and financials as the program grows.

You’ll consolidate responsibilities, establish on-call coverage, and partner with estimators to pursue new PM and service contracts while mentoring technicians and ensuring top-quality service.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of hands-on commercial HVAC and/or plumbing experience with lead or supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems, blueprints, and specs.
• OSHA 30 and EPA 608 Certification required (or willingness to obtain within 6 months); valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Own department financials: labor allocation, job costing, invoicing, profitability.
• Build the service department from scratch and develop a PM program with documentation and pricing.
• Manage day-to-day scheduling, dispatch, and priority of PM visits and service calls.
• Hire, supervise, and mentor HVAC/plumbing technicians as the team grows.
• Maintain client relationships, service agreements, and expand scope with existing clients.
