Zipline is hiring a Development Manager to lead critical ground system infrastructure, including charging infrastructure for autonomous operations. You will own projects from early site evaluation through permitting and pre-construction, partnering with Engineering, Construction, Legal, Government Affairs, Operations, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10+ years leading land or infrastructure development projects from due diligence through permitting and construction readiness.
• Strong technical foundation in civil, structural, or electrical infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing consultants, engineering firms, and external vendors.
• Experience working with utilities and regulatory agencies to obtain permits and service approvals.
• Excellent organizational, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to drive multiple complex projects independently while balancing priorities.
• Collaborative mindset with bias for action to build infrastructure enabling innovative tech.

Responsabilités

• Lead projects through development lifecycle from due diligence to permit approval.
• Oversee comprehensive site due diligence, feasibility, and constraint analyses.
• Manage surveys, title review, easement verification, environmental and geotechnical studies.
• Assess regulatory requirements, zoning, and permitting pathways.
• Guide preliminary and site design from concept through permit-ready packages.
• Review deliverables for compliance with requirements, standards, and budget.
• Drive timely resolution of design issues across stakeholders.
• Build relationships with local, regional, and state agencies.
• Lead pre-application meetings and coordinate agency reviews.
• Present projects to planning commissions, permitting agencies, and utilities.
• Navigate complex regulatory environments to advance project interests.
• Manage all permitting and entitlement processes end to end.
• Coordinate permit submissions, comments, and re-submissions.
• Coordinate with utilities and grid operators on service requests and connections.
