GROUND BEEF QA SUPERVISOR - B SHIFT
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and direct quality assurance technicians/auditors responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality-related policies to meet product quality standards.
- Perform daily safety walks and address any non-compliance issues.
- Review HACCP, SSOP, and other manufacturing documents to verify compliance and proper record keeping for manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities.
- Audit raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Ensure compliance with programs like GMPs, Good Hygiene Practices, HACCP, Allergen Control, Cleaning and Sanitation, Pest Control, Equipment Calibration, Organic Certification, etc., by all employees and personnel.
- Act as a liaison with the USDA to ensure operations adhere to regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in coordinating testing results for finished products, raw materials, and packaging, including related release and hold programs.
- Support implementation of policies, procedures, and quality systems to ensure proper testing, inspection, and evaluation.
- Participate in regulatory, third-party, and customer audits and inspections, and respond to corrective actions.
- Mentor and train quality assurance technicians/auditors, set expectations, provide accountability, and evaluate performance.
- Maintain a fair, professional work environment that balances business objectives with quality of work-life factors for employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall function of this role.
Experience Required:
- 1-2 years of Meat/Food Industry experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Skills/Abilities Required:
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and Food Safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Ability to multitask efficiently.
- Knowledge of Net/Tare weights and micro sampling.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Understanding of product AQL, SSOP, and record reviewing processes.
