GROUND BEEF PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR 2ND SHIFT
JBS in Plainwell, MI is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Grinds Department on the 2nd shift.
Group: Salaried
Location: Plainwell, MI
Purpose & Scope

Reports directly to the Production Superintendent and is primarily responsible for directing the workforce to achieve safety, quality, and operational goals as set by facility management.

Experience in a fast-paced, changing environment and knowledge of case-ready processing equipment are required.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety of all employees and product daily, adhering to company policies
  • Supervise hourly production staff, providing direction and training
  • Coordinate with maintenance for equipment upkeep and operator training
  • Promote continuous improvement and employee ownership of processes
  • Manage performance through goals and operational plans
  • Conduct investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Develop leads for daily operations in supervisor’s absence
  • Track data on yields, packaging, efficiency, and customer service; develop corrective actions
  • Use performance metrics to monitor and improve departmental performance
  • Ensure compliance with quality and product specifications
Working Conditions
  • Production and maintenance environments
  • Exposure to chemicals, machinery, knives, slippery floors, extreme temperatures, loud noises
Education & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in food production preferred but not mandatory.
