Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide ground avionics support for the AFLCMC C3I&N Directorate at Eglin AFB. This full-time role requires DoD experience and a current Top Secret clearance, with travel to USAF and FMS locations globally.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating data link systems, tactical radios, and lab/test equipment, plus delivering training on data link operations and COMSEC procedures to military and civilian personnel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in systems engineering including at least 5 years in a DoD environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Must have in-depth knowledge with LINK-16, SADL and other Tactical Data Link systems and message protocols.
• Experience with JICO tools, JTRS radios, fighter aircraft (F-16, F-15, F-35), CRC, and AOC.
• Knowledge of Flight Line Maintenance procedures and a working knowledge of both AC and DC electrical power and Radio Frequency characteristics.
• Able to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns.
• Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner.

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide ground avionics engineering support for the AFLCMC Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Eglin AFB. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and Tactical Data Link (LINK 16, SADL) support.
• Setup and operate equipment used to support the fielding and training of Tactical Data Links.
• Operate Tactical Radios to include all MIDS Family of Terminals.
• Operate Spectrum Analyzers, O'Scopes, Digital Volt Meters and other associated test and diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct training for both military and civilian members on proper data link operations, COMSEC Key loading procedures, and data link troubleshooting procedures on Ground based systems.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in systems engineering including at least 5 years in a DoD environment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements. Must have in-depth knowledgeand experience with LINK-16, SADL and other Tactical Data Link systems and message protocols. Experience with JICO tools, JTRS radios, fighter aircraft (F-16, F-15, F-35), Control and Reporting Center (CRC), and Air Ops Center (AOC). Knowledge of Flight Line Maintenance procedures and a working knowledge of both AC and DC electrical power and Radio Frequency characteristics required. Able to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns. Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner. Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations. Able to represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff. Proven ability to understand the strategic and tactical approach to projects and handle multiple projects concurrently. Must be willing to travel to USAF and FMS locations globally. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
