Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Weston, CT is seeking an Arborist Ground Person to join a professional tree-care crew. This entry-level position emphasizes hands-on training, safe practices, and growth within the company.

You’ll learn pruning, rigging, cabling, removal of hazardous trees, and equipment operation while supporting climbers and crew leaders. A valid driver's license and a passion for the outdoors help, with the possibility of future certifications supported by Bartlett.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture.
• Valid driver's license.
• Degree preferred but not required in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or related field.
• Interest in working outdoors year-round.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Prior tree care or landscaping experience preferred but not required.
• We follow all safety rules and company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Learn on-the-job to safely perform all arboriculture tasks.
• Prune trees, rigging, cabling and bracing.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Implement work zone safety procedures.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft.
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.
