Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing professional grooming services for dogs, utilizing knowledge of canine characteristics, grooming styles, and techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

1. Deliver world-class customer satisfaction
2. Answer phones and schedule appointments
3. Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, follow-up calls, reminders, and verifying vaccinations
4. Book appointments and greet pets as they come in
5. Report all accidents and injuries to the Store Manager promptly
6. Follow bathing/grooming procedures as outlined
7. Clean ears, clip nails, and perform other needed services
8. Adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns
9. Clip dog’s hair according to patterns, using electric clippers, combs, and shears
10. Comb and shape dogs’ coats
11. Use non-physical techniques to keep animals calm
12. Complete and maintain customer and company forms accurately
13. Observe safety rules and standards
14. Clean and sanitize grooming areas and equipment
15. Assist in store operations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year experience in pet grooming/styling
• Comfortable working with dogs and cats
• Must provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase them
• High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training provided by Petsense

• Operate grooming tools and equipment

• Ability to lift pets up to 50 pounds
• Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment with moderate noise
• Exposure to wet conditions, pet dander, and grooming tools
• Variable shifts, generally no less than 4 hours
• Maintain a safe and productive environment

Physical Requirements

• Move and transfer animals and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Stand and operate grooming tools for extended periods
• Bend, kneel, and squat frequently
• Read, write, and accurately complete documentation
• Operate store equipment effectively and safely
