Job summary

Destination Pet is seeking a Groomer for Canal Bark in Minnesota. You will groom a variety of breeds, talk with owners, and ensure every pet leaves looking and feeling great.

Ideal candidates bring proven grooming experience, strong people skills, and a passion for animal care. Availability on Sundays and Mondays is preferred, with a supportive team and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience grooming a wide range of breeds and coat types.
• Strong time management and attention to detail are essential.
• Customer-first mindset with the ability to chat with pet parents.
• Familiarity with pet behavior, stress signals, and safe handling practices.
• Clear communication with clients, teammates and pets.

Responsibilities

• Snipping, shaping, and styling pets based on owner preferences or breed standards.
• Trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth, and tidying up the tail end.
• Bathing dogs or coordinating with bathers to prep for grooming.
• Chatting with pet parents about grooming needs and coat care.
• Keeping your station neat, tools sharp, and your vibe professional.
• Tagging in the front desk when pups are ready for pickup.
• Providing a calm, kind, safe experience for every animal in your care.
• Representing Destination Pet's values of compassion, quality, and community.

What You Should Know

• Professional grooming experience is required.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and manage large or nervous dogs safely.
• Exposure to fur, cleaning chemicals, wet pups, ahem, "accidents" and unpredictable zoomies is guaranteed.
• Must be able to work in a physically active environment with heat, cold, water, and noise.

• You communicate clearly-with clients, teammates, and even the pets.

• You love animals and treat each one like they're your own.

What You'll Be Doing (Besides Making Dogs Look Fur-bulous)

• Snipping, shaping, and styling pets based on owner preferences or breed standards.
• Trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth, and tidying up the tail end.
• Bathing dogs (or working with bathers to prep pets for grooming).
• Chatting with pet parents about grooming needs, coat care, and what's trending in tails.
• Keeping your station neat, your tools sharp, and your vibe fresh.
• Tagging in the front desk when pups are fluffed, puffed, and ready for pickup.
• Providing a calm, kind, safe experience for every animal in your care.
• Representing Destination Pet's values of compassion, quality, and community.

Availability on Sunday's and Monday's preferred.
