Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus in Newark, OH is hiring experienced groomers to join our pack. The role focuses on brushing, bathing, conditioning, and grooming to breed standards while ensuring pet safety and owner satisfaction.

We offer a $1,500 sign-on bonus for new hires with 1+ years of experience, commission-based pay with a guaranteed minimum, training, paid time off, and full benefits including health plans. Growth opportunities exist within the Paragon program.

Qualifications

• 1+ year grooming experience with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer.
• Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Candidates must pass drug screening (in applicable states) and be 18 years or older.

$1,500 sign‑on bonus for new groomer hires with 1+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Delighting neighbors and pets with grooming services, such as brushing, bathing, and conditioning.
• Grooming and styling pets per owners’ instruction and/or according to breed standards.
• Always ensuring the wellness and safety of furry patrons.
• Developing long‑term relationships with pet parents by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that keep their pet healthy and happy.
• Community outreach to attract new neighbors into our store.
• Successfully completing safety training certification.
• Performing routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment fun and inviting.
• Assisting store team members during grooming downtime.
• Continuing to develop skills and pet grooming techniques while growing your career.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of grooming experience with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer.
• Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.
• Ability to provide your own equipment (clippers, blades, scissors, etc.).
• Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Candidates must pass drug screening (in applicable states) and be 18 years or older.
