Job summary

Digs Dog Care is hiring a Groom Tech in Wisconsin Dells. You will contribute to bathing, drying, and nail trims; assist groomers, and cross-train as kennel staff to support multiple areas.

You will monitor dog health and behavior, report concerns, and uphold a hospitality-first, stress-free grooming experience. We value compassion for animals, calm handling, strong teamwork, and the ability to stay flexible and answer pet-parent needs with care.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic dog behaviors and body language or a strong interest in compassionate animal care methods.
• Familiarity with grooming tools, equipment, and safe handling practices.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, including large/giant breeds.
• Ability to follow directions closely (written and verbal).
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Remain calm and pleasant with dogs and teammates.
• Physically able to lift and move dogs and equipment up to 40 lbs.; stand for long periods.
• Comfortable indoors with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
• Flexible scheduling, including holidays and at least one weekend day.

Responsibilities

• Groom Techs will be trained to provide grooming duties including bathing, drying, and nail trims
• Assist groomers with handling dogs during the grooming service
• Cross-trained as kennel techs and assist in other areas as needed
• Monitor and address dog health, skin, coat condition, and behavior; report concerns to supervisor
• Deliver a hospitality-first experience, engaging warmly with every dog and making visits stress-free
• Keep grooming stations, tubs, and tools clean and sanitized; proper use of cleaning chemicals
• Follow feeding, medication, and allergy protocols for every animal in care
• Sanitize equipment, dryers, tables, and accessories; restock grooming supplies as needed
• Assist with lobby customer relations, ensuring pet parents feel informed and at ease
• Pitch in on additional tasks contributing to culture, pet wellbeing, and hospitality
• Work respectfully with teammates and maintain a positive, professional attitude
