Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) in Illinois to provide grooming services, learn through the Paragon School of Pet Grooming, and maintain a clean, safe grooming area for pets and neighbors.

You will train online and gain hands-on experience with brushing, bathing, trimming nails, and assisting during grooming downtime. Flexible schedule, friendly team, and a focus on pet welfare are essential.

Qualifications

Experience in retail or other industry working with pets.
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.
Ability to review videos and take tests online.
Flexibility in working evenings, weekends and holidays.
Candidates must pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and validated selection test and be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Delighting Neighbors and pets with grooming services, such as brushing, bathing, and trimming nails.
Learning and demonstrating all the skills necessary to become a groomer through the online distance program.
Always ensuring the wellness and safety of furry patrons.
Developing long-term relationships with Neighbors by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that will keep their pet healthy and happy.
Performing routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment fun and inviting.
Successfully completing Safety Training certification.
Assisting store team members during grooming downtime.
