Job summary

El Super is hiring a Utilities Clerk for #68 Bell Gardens. The role supports Produce maintenance, bags groceries, and helps customers while upholding store safety and cleanliness. This position requires lifting and the ability to stand and walk for long periods in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 45 pounds frequently, and up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department and assist customers on the store floor as needed.
• Properly bag groceries for customers when needed and carry out groceries for customers if requested.
• Maintain store safety and cleanliness.
• Retrieve store carts and run price checks.
• Assist with go-backs and maintain the check stand.
• Remove waste from the parking area.
• The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, requiring lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, and visual and auditory abilities.
