El Super is seeking a Utilities Clerk in Salinas to support store maintenance, assist customers, bag groceries, and help keep aisles and the Produce Department orderly. The starting rate is $16.90 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in proper store maintenance, especially in Produce, and help customers on the store floor as needed.
• Bag groceries for customers and carry out groceries when requested.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; manage carts, run price checks, assist with go-backs and check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area.
