Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Grocery Department Manager to lead the Grocery Department in day-to-day operations, drive sales, and ensure in-stock items, accurate pricing, and high merchandising standards. The role combines leadership, coaching, and hands-on management in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will oversee staffing, training, scheduling, and development of grocery associates while maintaining compliance with food safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Grocery Department with a focus on customer service, sales, and department readiness
• Deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front-fac, and merchandised to company standards
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment
