Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Grocery Department Manager to lead daily Grocery Dept operations, drive sales, and maintain in-stock conditions with strong merchandising standards. You will supervise associates, ensure excellent customer service, and support planograms and promotions.

The role emphasizes team leadership, coaching, and adherence to food safety and operational standards in a fast-paced environment. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Help oversee daily operations of the Grocery Department with a focus on customer service, sales, and department readiness.
• Deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front-faced, and merchandised to company standards.
• Assist with executing planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising.
• Assist with managing orders, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization.
• Assist with monitoring shrink and implementing procedures to reduce waste and loss.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
• Assist with training, coaching, scheduling, and developing grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment.
• Perform Grocery Department duties as needed and assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Grocery Manager.
