Albertsons Companies in Vergennes, VT is seeking an Assistant Grocery Department Manager to lead daily Grocery Department operations, drive sales, and maintain in-stock conditions with high merchandising standards.

You will supervise associates, coach talent, ensure safe, compliant store practices, and partner with the Grocery Manager to execute planograms, promotions, and staffing coverage. This fast-paced role rewards proactive leadership and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front-faced, and merchandised to standards.
• Assist with executing planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising.
• Assist with managing orders, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization.
• Assist with monitoring shrink and implementing procedures to reduce waste and loss.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and standards.
• Assist with training, coaching, scheduling, and developing associates while fostering a positive team environment.
• Perform duties as needed and assume responsibility in the absence of the Grocery Manager.

Main Responsibilities
