Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keeps the Grocery department well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Builds displays to drive incremental sales. Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness. Keeps product within easy customer reach. Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
• Greets customers with a smile, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
• Applies proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located, saleable, and correctly priced.
• May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries, using a power jack or hand jack (training provided).
• Handles damaged or discontinued items according to company policy, removing unsellable products.
• Maintains sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and health guidelines. Properly disposes of trash.
• Maintains productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control, complying with security policies. Ensures stock is put out at an acceptable rate.
• May assist with baling cardboard or related duties (training provided).
• Ensures smooth department and store operation by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Aims to improve job performance continuously.
• Uses all company-provided PPE, including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and footwear.
• May be called upon to assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

Must be able to perform essential duties with or without accommodation. Requirements include:
