Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Keeps the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Builds displays to drive incremental sales. Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness. Keeps products within easy customer reach. Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
2. Greets customers with a smile, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
3. Applies proper stocking techniques to ensure products are correctly located on shelves, and merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs.
4. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries using a power jack or hand jack (training provided).
5. Handles damaged or discontinued items according to company policy. Removes unsellable products.
6. Maintains cleanliness in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to meet health and OSHA standards. Properly disposes of trash.
7. Maintains productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control. Complies with security regulations. Puts out stock at an acceptable rate as per company standards.
8. May assist with baling cardboard or related duties (training provided).
9. Ensures departmental and store functions run smoothly by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Continuously seeks to improve job performance.
10. Uses all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
11. May be called upon to assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily with or without accommodations. Requirements include:

• High School Diploma or GED (completed or in progress).
• No prior experience required.
