Job summary

Good Foods Co-op is seeking an experienced Grocery Operations Manager to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced retail environment. You will coordinate daily grocery operations, freight processing, stocking, merchandising, and staff development to ensure exceptional customer service and efficient department performance.

You will work closely with the Grocery Department Manager, helping drive merchandising standards, inventory accuracy, and storewide operational support while upholding cooperative

Qualifications

• 5 years of grocery/retail operations experience.
• At least 1 year in a management or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of grocery operations, freight processing, stocking procedures, and inventory management.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment.
• Enjoys training, coaching, and developing employees.
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks, coordinate workflows, and maintain operational efficiency.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service.
• Reliable, adaptable, and solution-focused.
• Interest in natural and organic foods and cooperative values.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support grocery floor staff.
• Coordinate daily freight receiving, processing, stocking, and backstock management.
• Set clear daily expectations for assignments, productivity, and stocking standards.
• Assist with scheduling, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
• Provide leadership, coaching, accountability, and staff development.
• Maintain shelves, displays, and storage areas—stocked, rotated, organized, and clean.
