Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; five years of grocery or retail experience preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Basic math skills and Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of product rotation and customer service orientation.
• Must obtain Harmons Forklift Certification and strong communication skills.
• Excellent organization and planning abilities; ability to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures.
• Assists Grocery Manager with operation of grocery, frozen, and dairy departments.
• Ensures quality and freshness of products and services.
• Maintains appropriate product assortment and inventory levels.
• Confirms pricing accuracy and signage, especially ad items.
• Delivers excellent customer service to all customers.
• Receives, stores, and stocks products for grocery, frozen, and dairy departments.
• Orders product based on past and projected sales.
• Pulls out of date product from shelves.
• Builds end-cap and other displays.
• Communicates with Grocery Manager, Store Director, and Sales Directors.
• Maintains safety, sanitation, and productivity standards.
• Trains and mentors associates.
