Qualifications

• Must be able to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates
• Label, stock and inventory merchandise, provide fresh products ordered
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep logs
• Support safety programs; identify unsafe conditions and notify management
• Perform preventive maintenance and report issues to supervisors
• Notify management of accidents
• Report safety risks, theft or fraud
• Be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations
