Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Grocery Department Manager in a store environment. You will oversee daily operations of the Grocery Department, drive sales and profitability, maintain in-stock conditions, pricing accuracy and high merchandising standards.

You will lead a fast-paced, hands-on team, hire and develop associates, and ensure customers enjoy a full, fresh and well-organized grocery area every day.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a grocery department or retail team.
• Strong merchandising and planogram execution knowledge.
• Ability to manage inventory, ordering, and backroom organization.
• Knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Grocery Department operations focusing on service, sales and readiness.
• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and resolve concerns professionally.
• Keep shelves and displays clean, full, front-facing and merchandised to standards.
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions and weekly ads.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation and backroom organization.
• Monitor shrink and implement loss-prevention procedures.

Main responsibilities :

• Oversee daily operations of the Grocery Department with a focus on customer service, sales, and department readiness
• Deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front ‑ faced, and merchandised to company standards
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry products and work in coolers and freezers
