Job summary

El Rio Grande Latin Market in Dallas is seeking a Grocery Manager to oversee department inventory, pricing integrity, merchandising, and labor while ensuring freshness, date controls, and proper receiving and storage.

You will train new staff, build effective displays, and coordinate ordering with vendors to uphold sanitation and compliance to company standards. This role requires at least 3 years of grocery experience and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must successfully pass Math, Cashier, and Physical Test.
• Must have at least 3 years' experience in grocery department operations.
• Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity and merchandising.
• Oversee labor, back room controls, and process grocery products according to work plan and standards.
• Plan, order, and process groceries; rotate and display products; ensure freshness and date controls.
• Coordinate ordering with vendors, communicate with suppliers, and ensure compliance and sanitation.

Grocery Managers are responsible for managing department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to company standards. This position is essential in ensuring that products are handled properly, rotated to ensure freshness, and that date controls are performed. Also, responsible for ordering, vendor communications, compliance and sanitation, back room inventory and controls. They will plan, order, and process grocery products according to work plan and standards to maximize sales and gross profit. Grocery Managers will ensure all new department associates receive proper training and supervision and will ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and building of displays.
