Job summary

Qualifications

• 12+ months retail experience.
• Knowledge of grocery products and merchandising expectations.
• Strong math skills and ability to use computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Completes Order Writer training.
• Replenishes products through proper buying procedures.
• Orders perishable and non-perishable grocery products and maintains back stock levels.
• Monitors open PO reports for purchases and credits and acts promptly.
• Controls spoilage and shrink; participates in inventory and cycle counting.
• Completes spoilage and inventory management processes, sampling and temperature checks as required.
• Ensures orders for product are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
• Oversees customer special order procedure.
• Analyzes product transfers, waste and spoilage.
• Supports leadership in inventories.
• Maintains profitability by meeting purchasing and sales targets.
• Arrives on time, groomed and ready; attends trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling; answers phones courteously.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking and merchandising.
• Follows procedures including Weights and Measures, health/sanitation, and safety practices.
• Maintains clean and sanitary work/shopping environments and equipment per WFM standards.
• Performs opening, mid and closing duties; ensures sign and price accuracy.
• Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
