Job summary

Dierbergs Markets, Inc. is seeking a focused, hands-on Manager Trainee to lead the grocery department and front-end operations.

You’ll work closely with the Core Management team to supervise Associates, resolve issues, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. Designed as a learning role with the goal of advancing through the Dierbergs career ladder, this position emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and continuous development toward higher management

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in retail, grocery, food service, or hospitality.
• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, decision making, and conflict management skills.
• Excellent leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate others and foster a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grocery and front-end department as a working manager in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide boots-on-the-ground support across store departments.
• Collaborate with Core Management to lead, direct, and supervise Associates.
• Address schedule concerns and performance issues; resolve customer complaints.
• Assist in payroll management, scheduling, inventory, ordering, and vendor partnerships.
• Act as Store Manager in the absence of leadership.
