Job summary

Dierbergs Markets, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee who will be a visible, working manager in the grocery department and front-end. You’ll learn all aspects of the grocery business in a fast-paced environment, from customer service to operations, with the goal of advancing through the Dierbergs career ladder.

You will gain experience across store operations, payroll, scheduling, inventory, and vendor relations while demonstrating leadership in day-to-day store activities and customer service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in retail, grocery, food service, or hospitality.
• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, decision making, and conflict management skills.
• Good leadership and the ability to motivate others and maintain professionalism.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends and to transfer to other stores in the area.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of grocery and front-end departments with a hands-on learning approach.
• Boots-on-the-ground support and backup for associates store-wide.
• Lead, direct, and supervise associates with Core Management direction.
• Address scheduling, performance issues, and customer concerns.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, inventory, and vendor partnerships.
• Act as Store Manager in the absence of the store leadership.
• Ensure a positive customer experience and uphold company standards.
