Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to provide exceptional customer service at the front end of the store in San Diego. You will bag groceries, help customers load bags, perform shelf maintenance, and keep the store clean and safe throughout your shift.

We value helpful, honest, and customer-focused team members who can work in a fast-paced environment and follow store policies. Prior retail exposure is welcome but not required, with full- and part-time shifts available.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not necessary

Responsibilities

• Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bags groceries at check out for customers
• Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout
• Offer to help customers with loading bags into their car
• Perform basic shelf conditioning
• Inform customers of grocery specials
• Return merchandise to store shelves
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas
• Clean spills, collect and pick up trash inside store and parking lot
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
• Understand the store's layout and locate products
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and report needed repairs
• Create welcoming environment and answer questions about products
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines
• Work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environment
• Manage conflicts respectfully
• Be honest and integral with customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
• Must be able to perform essential functions with/without accommodation
