Job summary

Responsibilities

• Help customers discover items and answer questions.

• Check product quality and review sell-by dates; take action as needed.
• Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable groceries ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs in cases and coolers.
• Gain knowledge of products and provide suggestions to customers.
• Create a welcoming environment and respond to product questions across the store.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and arrange repairs when needed.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in high paced or stressful environments.
• Manage conflict in a calm, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support for interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
