• Gain and maintain knowledge of department products and respond to questions with recommendations.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items they inquire about.
• Inform customers of grocery specials and promotions.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and ensure quality.
• Recommend grocery items to meet customers' needs.
• Check product quality and freshness; review sell-by dates and take action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to management.
• Stay current with ads and promotions (present, future, seasonal).
• Adhere to food safety regulations and ensure proper temperatures and temperature logs.
