Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in South Jordan, UT is seeking an Assistant Department Manager to help plan, organize, staff, train and direct the Grocery Department associates.

Qualifications

• Assist Department Manager in planning, organizing, staffing, training and directing Grocery Department associates.
• Demonstrate effective leadership in scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure smooth department operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing work and staffing needs as authorized by store management.
• Respond to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests and questions professionally.
• Use CAO to manage ordering quantities and track receipts and inventory in the Department Manager's absence.
• Assist in pricing and displaying merchandise with proper signage, rotation and space allocation.
• Engage associates in merchandising techniques, customer service and promotions.
• Follow company programs and policies, including dress code, sanitation and harassment/discrimination avoidance.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Communicate with associates and customers to maintain a positive impression.
• Maintain equipment, facilities and grocery areas to sanitary standards.
• Promote and implement company initiatives to direct reports in a constructive manner.
• Demonstrate ability to manage people and workloads.
• Perform any duties as assigned.
