Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Any management experience is preferred.
• 1 year of grocery retail experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
• Report safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud; notify management of accidents.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
• Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Assist store management in budgeting, P&L reviews, and financial reporting actions.
• Monitor and control department expenses.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Implement promotional plans for the department.
• Submit seasonal critiques for supervisor.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Understand store layout and product locations.
• Respond to questions about products and provide suggestions.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines.
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance reviews.
• Schedule adequately to manage customer volume.
