Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a capable store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments, mentoring teammates and ensuring excellent customer service during peak hours.

You will focus on staffing, training, P&L understanding, and adherence to Meijer standards, delivering a safe, high-performing shopping environment and driving sales while meeting customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas and experience with customer service and product flow.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decision making.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members including hourly staff and team leaders.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by developing career paths and promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed goals and uphold Meijer standards.
• Ensures team is trained in all aspects of their jobs and has completed required training.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance is required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
