Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Customer Service Assistant in Austin, TX. You will package groceries and help customers transport their purchases from the Store to their vehicles, while supporting unloading and locating merchandise.

You will also participate in stocking, sanitation, and ensuring store cleanliness and safety. The role requires performing routine tasks in a fast-paced retail environment, assisting with baskets, bag areas, and cart relocation, with attention to customer needs and safety

Qualifications

• Ability to work with customers and stay attentive to their needs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Completion of Company Orientation and Basics of Safety training (upon hire).
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and manage up to 100 lbs with safe lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in unloading merchandise from baskets.
• Package groceries and help customers transport purchases to vehicles.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Gather baskets and pick up trash inside and outside the store.
• Stock and maintain bag areas.
• Return products to proper locations.
• Stock and stage bags; restock check stands.
• Distribute Buddy bucks to registers; replace anti-fatigue mats.
• Relocate carts and baskets for department setup; power-wash baskets when needed.
• Perform red basket fill up / retrieval.
• Clean and maintain store cleanliness and safety (floors, check stand area, Return Center, CCO area).
