Job summary

Ralphs in Monterey Park, CA is seeking a courteous Clerk/Grocery Bagger to deliver excellent customer service at checkout. You will bag groceries, keep the environment safe and clean, and help customers carry items to their cars when needed.

You will follow store procedures, support safety programs, organize shelves, and respond to customer questions about products. Prior retail experience is welcoming but not required, and you’ll join a team focused on respect, integrity, and providing a

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers
• Strive to bag at least five items while ensuring contents are not damaged
• Follow best practices for bagging with reusable, plastic, and paper bags
• Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car
• Perform basic shelf conditioning
• Inform customers of grocery specials
• Return merchandise to store shelves
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas
• Clean spills, collect and pick up trash inside store and in parking lot
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
• Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome by answering questions about products
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Ability to manage conflict in a professional manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
