Job summary

El Super store #22 in Phoenix is seeking a Grocery Clerk to support the store operations team under the Grocery Manager. You will help customers, stock and rotate displays, and maintain clean shelves and self-serve areas.

The position offers a starting rate of $16.50 per hour. Must be able to lift heavy items and work nights/weekends. El Super is an equal employment opportunity employer and part of the Chedraui USA family.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers under direct supervision.
• Assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves.
• Clean, fill and rotate the self‑serve displays.
• Must work hours including nights and weekends; able to lift, bend and stoop for long periods.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill and rotate the self serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
