Job summary

El Super is hiring a Grocery Clerk at #22 Phoenix - 32nd. The role supports customer service, stocking and upkeep of self-serve displays. The position requires the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and work nights and weekends as needed.

Under the El Super Store Operations Team, you will help maintain friendly service and a clean shopping environment while following store procedures and safety guidelines. Training and growth opportunities are available within the Chedraui USA family.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers.
• Assist customers, clean display cases and shelves, and rotate self-serve displays.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends and perform heavy lifting as required.
• Support fast-paced store operations in a safe, orderly manner.
• Follow store policies and assist with general duties as assigned by management.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, clean shelves, and clean, fill and rotate the self‑serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
