Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to complete cashier training program.
• Ability to memorize produce items and sale items.
• Effective communication and reading skills.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the Point of Sale system and handle payments (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty, coupons).
• Rotate merchandise according to code dating policies and ensure freshness.
• Greet, engage and assist customers.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Stock and inventory merchandise and report discrepancies.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).
• Maintain food safety and proper temperature logs.
• Notify management of accidents and faulty equipment.
