Job summary

Adams Hometown Markets in Rangeley, ME is seeking a Grocery Clerk responsible for stocking, organizing, and maintaining the grocery department. You will unload deliveries, rotate stock, monitor inventory, and assist customers while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment. Open schedules include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Lift up to 80-85 lbs; stand, bend, lift and twist for up to 90% of shift.
• Stand or walk at least 10 hours daily in various temperature controlled environments.
• Operate required material handling equipment as needed.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders daily.
• Prioritize and meet deadlines while maintaining product quality.

Responsibilities

• Unload delivery trucks and stock shelves according to store plan.
• Rotate products (First in, First out).
• Monitor inventory levels and restock shelves.
• Remove damaged or expired items to maintain quality.
• Maintain overall produce quality and department cleanliness.
• Assist customers in locating products and communicating prices or sales.
• Address customer inquiries and escalate issues to leadership.
• Ensure pricing and labeling accuracy and update tags as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Work effectively under varying environmental temperatures.
