Job summary

El Super #9 in Pomona, CA is hiring a Grocery Clerk (ages 16-17) to provide friendly customer service under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting customers, cleaning displays and shelves, and rotating self-serve areas.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally and work nights/weekends. Starting rate is $16.90 per hour, with 401(k) and education benefits offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers, clients, and employees in one‑on‑one or small group situations.
• Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Ability to lift regularly up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 45 lbs, and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service under direct supervision.
• Assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves.
• Clean, fill, and rotate self‑serve displays.
• Work a variety of hours, including nights and weekends.
• Perform heavy lifting as required.
