Job summary

El Super #36 Salinas is seeking a Grocery Clerk to join the Store Operations Team. Under the Grocery Manager's supervision, you will assist customers, maintain displays, stock shelves, and rotate self-serve displays in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to work nights/weekends and perform heavy lifting. The job is located at 640 E. Borondo Rd., Salinas, CA 93906. El Super is part of the Chedraui USA family, offering opportunities for growth and development within a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
• Write short correspondence.
• Present information in one-on-one or small group settings to customers and coworkers.
• Apply basic understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 45 lbs, occasionally up to 60 lbs.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill and rotate the self serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
