Job summary

El Super in Salinas is seeking a Produce Clerk to support the Produce Manager by providing excellent customer service and maintaining attractive, organized produce displays. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Under direct supervision, you will assist customers, clean and rotate perishable items while ensuring accurate pricing and shelf presentation.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and employees.
• Apply common sense to detailed instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45, occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service under supervision as Produce Clerk.
• Assist with cleaning, filling and rotating produce displays.
• Lift and move items as required for shelving and displays.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of Produce Manager, the Produce Clerk provides customer service. Assists customers, cleans, fills and rotates the perishable (produce) displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.
