Responsibilities include:
- Informing customers of food specials and recommending products to ensure they get what they want and need.
- Checking product quality for freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
- Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
- Reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager.
- Staying current with ads and promotions.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keeping logs.
- Gaining knowledge of products and responding to customer questions with suggestions.
- Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Reinforcing safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Performing preventive maintenance and notifying management of repairs needed.
- Reporting customer or employee accidents.
- Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Managing conflict professionally and cooperatively.
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Following directions and seeking assistance to resolve issues.
- Supporting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
