Responsibilities include:
- Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs in cases and coolers.
- Gain product knowledge to assist and suggest items to customers.
- Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Report any customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and respectfully.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
